About the game
What you do in a play session
League of Six: Complete Edition arrives as one of Vladimír Suchý's early works, already showcasing the creativity that would later make him famous. The complete box includes the base game, slightly tweaked for smoother play, plus two expansions: Loyal Retinue, which adds new characters and negotiation options, and a two‑player solo expansion that lets you face any number of automated opponents—perfect for quick sessions or strategy practice. Set in 1430 amid the unrest of Lusatia, you and up to five friends become young aristocrats dispatched as tax collectors. Each round represents a year, and you visit one of the six cities of the League of Six, gathering goods that can be stored in royal coffers or local estate reserves. Those deposits grant influence at King Sigismund's court, and the player with the most influence after six turns earns a place beside the king. The game’s engine blends auction mechanics—where you bid for collection rights or strategic perks—with pick‑up‑and‑deliver actions, forcing you to decide where to move goods for maximum sway. Decisions are swift, yet each bid can shift the whole game, and the modular board ensures city order changes every play. High‑quality components and modern graphics bring the medieval setting to life. Playtime ranges from 60 to 120 minutes depending on player count, and the learning curve is gentle, making it an excellent entry point for auction‑style games while still offering depth for seasoned gamers. If you enjoy resource management, negotiation, and have a soft spot for historical themes, League of Six is a solid pick for group nights or solo sessions with AI opponents.
