About the game

What you do in a play session

Lost Cities: Roll & Write brings the famed archaeological adventure to the tabletop in a fast, breezy format. Each player receives a sheet with six colored columns, an artifact column, and a dice column. On a turn, the active player rolls three colored dice (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple) and three ten‑sided dice numbered 0‑9. They pick one numeric die and one color die, recording the number in the matching column. A zero on an untouched column lets you mark the double‑point circle; otherwise you may only place numbers equal to or higher than the last entry. Acceleration fields and artifacts give chances to jump ahead, but choosing poorly can stall an expedition and cost points. You can also decline a combo and mark a die in the dice column; being the first to fill the seventh space of any column nets a 20‑point bridge bonus. The game ends when all players become “exhausted” (nine marks in the dice column) or when the eight bridge bonuses are claimed. Scoring adds the column totals, doubling them if the double‑point circle was marked, plus points from artifact, dice, and bridge bonuses. With a blend of luck, quick decisions, and light strategy, Lost Cities: Roll & Write delivers a 30‑minute experience that appeals to both newcomers and seasoned dice‑and‑paper fans.
