About the game

What you do in a play session

In Magna Grecia, you relive the Greek colonization of Southern Italy 2,500 years ago. This game blends territorial strategy and economic development on a gorgeous hexagonal board (with wooden pieces, naturally!). Each player competes to build the most prosperous cities by connecting markets and controlling the legendary Oracle – a source of wealth and prestige. But beware: going solo is expensive! Sometimes it's smarter to invest in neutral villages or even rival cities to secure trade routes. The game unfolds over 12 dynamic rounds, with actions determined by an ingenious card system that changes every game. Get ready to negotiate, calculate risks, and expand your empire wisely – because in the end, only one will be remembered as Magna Graecia's greatest leader!

Best with 3 or 4 – with 2 it's more solitary but still strategic.

First game takes ~2h, but drops to 75min with experienced players.

Not at all! The theme is charming flavor, but rules are fully abstract.

100% strategy – the only 'random' is action order, which you can plan around.
