About the game
What you do in a play session
Hey everyone! Ready for a trip back in time with MammuZ? This card game is pure prehistoric fun, where you'll encounter mammoths, saber-tooth tigers, and a bunch of critters that have long since roared their last. The goal? Get rid of your cards as quickly as possible, as if you're helping these guys fade into history!
MammuZ's deck is pretty clever: it has animal cards in varying quantities – from two mammoths to nine mice – plus six dinosaur cards with special powers that add that extra spice. And the cool part is, you customize the deck before you start, adjusting everything for the number of players.
The gameplay follows the classic 'cheat' or 'bluffing' style. Each round, a player lays down 1 to 4 cards face down, announcing they are a certain type of animal. It might be true, it might be a lie! The next player has two options: either play more cards of the same type (and join the deception!) or challenge the previous player by flipping over one of the played cards. If the card is what the player claimed, the challenger takes all the cards into their hand. If it was a lie, the player who laid down the cards gets the 'gift'. Oh, and if you're unlucky (or lucky!) enough to reveal a dinosaur, a special power kicks in!
There's more: if you collect all the cards of a specific animal type in your hand, you can discard them all at once, removing them from the game. And victory? It goes to the first player to run out of cards, whether by discarding a whole animal set or by playing their last card and not being caught in a lie. It's fast, strategic, and full of laughs!
