About the game

What you do in a play session

Mary Shelley's Dream is a horror-themed Roll & Write game where you take on the role of a scientist attempting to create and reanimate a creature, much like Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The goal is to gather all the necessary body parts and accumulate Leyden jars filled with electricity to bring your creation to life, all before the police find and arrest you. The game comes with a game sheet, a pen, and three dice (two white and one black). The black die controls the progress of the police, while the white dice allow you to mark actions such as earning money, acquiring skills, working in the morgue, and more. Each turn consists of rolling the dice, marking the police's progress (if any), and noting your actions on the sheet. The game ends when you successfully reanimate the creature or when the police catch you. Can you make Mary Shelley's dream come true?
