In Mass Transit: The Boston Public Transportation Game, you and your friends step into the shoes of different Bostonians, aiming to master the city's public transportation network. The goal is to visit as many stops as possible to accumulate points, but be prepared for daily inconveniences, such as unexpected Red Line maintenance! At the start of the game, each player chooses their character and receives destination cards indicating the stations to visit. Each turn, you roll two types of dice: a white one to build track lines and a black one to move your meeple along existing routes. Upon reaching a destination station, you 'bank' the card to score points at the end of the game and draw a new one. Each character has special abilities that can either help you out or hinder other players, adding an interesting strategic layer. As you complete more destinations, you unlock higher levels, which bring more movement and challenging events, such as line shutdowns and other typical big-city delays. The game ends when the destination card deck runs out. The winner is whoever has the most points, combining completed station cards and a secret objective from their TransitCard. It's a fun and strategic race through Boston's transit system!
