About the game
What you do in a play session
In 2033, the world as we know it has been reduced to radioactive rubble after a nuclear war. Humanity survived by hiding in bunkers, the largest of which is the Moscow Metro, now humanity's last haven. Metro 2033 plunges you into this grim setting, based on the literary universe by Dmitry Glukhovsky. Each player takes on the role of a faction leader fighting for control of the underground stations and tunnels. The goal is to accumulate 10 victory points, earned through controlling stations or completing quests. Capturing the four stations of Polis, the political and cultural heart of the Metro, is another path to victory. Your heroes can explore the underground, pick up quests, enhance their abilities, and confront rival heroes. Armies can also attack stations, but only adjacent ones. Controlled stations produce essential resources like ammo, food, and other supplies, used to expand your territory, strengthen your troops, and acquire equipment. A special sequence dictates round events: resource production, votes for new laws, or even unexpected attacks from the darkness that must be repelled. Combat occurs between heroes or armies, using combat cards to add a tactical and bluffing element, where guessing the opponent's move is crucial.
