About the game
What you do in a play session
Welcome to the newly explored frontiers of the Mistwind Islands, where bustling cities thrive with the hard work of fungus farmers and deep mist divers. Above the thick mist, majestic transport whales soar, carrying citizens and cargo between ports. Mistwind is rapidly expanding, and its leaders are eager to establish new trade networks with neighboring nations to ensure lasting prosperity. You step into the role of a shrewd head of a trade company, with the opportunity to carve out your legacy. Your transport whales are expertly trained, and now it's time to gather resources, build outposts, and optimize your network to meet the demands of local capitals. Mistwind is a strategic game focused on building efficient networks and satisfying the needs of each nation. Players collect resources to construct outposts or train their whales, gather and deliver cargo to fulfill territorial demands, and secure trade contracts with neighboring nations. All this in an effort to become the Most Trusted Trader in Mistwind! Each round, you start with five action disks numbered 1-5, but must discard one before starting, using only four. The game board is divided into four sections, each with spaces numbered 1-5, where you place your corresponding action disks. Be warned: each space only allows one action disk! Players take turns placing their action disks until everyone has used all four, ending the round. With only four rounds in the game, every action decision is critical. Points are earned by completing network contracts, delivering resources to capitals, and securing the majority of demand tokens in each region. The player with the most points wins!
