About the game
What you do in a play session
Just like in the previous Paperback and Hardback games, you'll build your own deck of cards, and each card has letters that you'll use to form words each turn. The big twist here is that instead of using your words to score points, you use them to defeat a series of AI-controlled enemies, in a style reminiscent of roguelike games, where each playthrough is different and the difficulty increases.
Paperback Adventures was designed from the ground up to be a fantastic solo experience, with high replayability and strategic challenges. But if you enjoy playing together, there's also a cooperative mode for two players. The game comes with three playable characters, each with their own abilities and playstyles, which adds even more variety. Oh, and an important heads-up: the core box is not a complete game! You'll need one of the additional character boxes (Ex Machina, Damsel, or Plothook) to be able to play.
