About the game
What you do in a play session
In Path of Civilization you take the helm of a budding nation and, each round, decide which routes to pursue to bring your people to glory. There’s no single right path – what matters is that your choices converge toward prosperity, whether you invest in science, military strength, spirituality, culture, or industrialization. The game revolves around a simple card‑and‑resource system, yet the sheer variety of cards ensures every play feels fresh. You research technologies that advance along distinct tracks, employ philosophers and sages to tackle humanity’s great challenges, and send builders to erect wonders that outlive generations. Simultaneously, you can grow your population, spawn legendary leaders, and forge a military legacy that scares opponents. When an external threat emerges, your army moves in to defend or conquer distant lands. All decisions are made simultaneously, so the tension of unveiling your strategy alongside rivals is constant. Hand management forces you to balance action cards, events, and tags, while variable set‑up guarantees a different starting layout each game, boosting replayability. Components featuring AI‑generated artwork give the game a modern look, and it’s also available digitally on Board Game Arena and TableTop Simulator. Perfect for fans of civilization games who enjoy a brisk pace, moderate strategic depth, and abundant thematic variety.
