Pax Romana throws you directly into the melting pot of the Ancient Mediterranean, between 300 BC and the end of the 1st century BC, a time when control of the region was up for grabs and four empires could emerge. This is not a game for the faint of heart, with matches that can last up to 600 minutes, but the immersion is total! The focus is on large-scale strategy: from assembling colossal armies and colonizing distant lands to repelling barbarian incursions and maintaining political stability at home. You will feel the weight of history in your decisions.
The game uses a unique marker-oriented play sequence that ensures unexpected twists and opportunities. In addition, a special deck of cards introduces historical events and calamities, forcing players to adapt to a constantly changing scenario. Pax Romana offers an incredible variety of scenarios, from fast-paced two-hour games for two players, ideal for an afternoon, to vivid recreations of entire eras with four players, covering 300 years of history in ten turns. You can relive the Punic Wars or the conflicts in the Eastern Mediterranean between Greeks and Seleucids. And there's more: a Standard version for those who want a more agile experience and an Advanced version, which delves deep into additional historical details, for the most hardcore strategists. Get ready to command your empire with over 400 counters, 55 cards, and a robust game map!
