About the game

What you do in a play session

Get ready for a high-seas pirate adventure with Pirates' Gold! In this 3D game, you command your magnetic pirate ship in search of sunken treasures. The mechanics are straightforward: roll the dice to move your ship across the transparent board and try to hook treasure chests with the magnet on your vessel. But beware! The ocean is full of treacherous reefs. If your ship crosses one, you might continue sailing, but the treasure you were carrying could be lost to the depths. The main challenge is navigating this underwater maze, grabbing the gold, and bringing it back to your port without losing it to the sea's dangers. Each recovered chest, when opened at your safe harbor, reveals a secret coin value from 0 to 4. The first pirate to accumulate 10 treasure points wins, or whoever has the most riches once all chests are retrieved. Movement is orthogonal for both ships and the fearsome Sea Monster. You can only carry one chest at a time and cannot sail through other ships or the monster. If the monster crosses your path, your ship sinks, losing its treasure and returning to port. The movement die features numbers 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, but rolling a 1 or 4 gives you a chance to roll the Doom Die, which can bring treasure theft, storms that throw you far off course, or move the monster. It's a race against time and other pirates to become the greatest treasure hunter!
