About the game
Get ready to hoist the sails and embark on a pirate adventure that might just be your last! In Pirates of Maracaibo, you'll explore the Caribbean in search of the most valuable treasures, like gold, emeralds, and rare pearls, always keeping an eye out for a safe harbor to stash your loot. But a pirate's life isn't just about plundering: you'll need to stockpile your cargo, hire a loyal crew, and even commandeer rival ships. And of course, most importantly: bury your treasure before anyone else finds it!

The ultimate goal is to retire as the richest and most legendary buccaneer of all time, but for that, a single trip around the Caribbean won't be enough. You'll have to complete three journeys, outwitting and out-plundering your opponents.

Pirates of Maracaibo is a standalone game, set in the same universe as the acclaimed Maracaibo from 2019. If you're familiar with the original, you'll recognize some beloved mechanics, but don't worry: this one has a more accessible rule set, perfect for newcomers to the world of piracy. The game unfolds over three rounds, where you navigate, recruit crew, form alliances, explore the coast, and amass as much wealth as possible. So, sailors and swashbucklers, it's time to cast off!
