About the game
What you do in a play session
In Plata, you and your friends venture into the depths of an abandoned mine in Silver City, a ghost town that holds secrets and, of course, plenty of silver! This climbing card game invites you to seek out the coveted silver cards, the only ones that truly matter for the final score. But beware: the lower the value of a silver card, the more points it yields, so keep an eye out for hidden bargains in the dark galleries.
The 'climbing' mechanic is the heart of the game: players take turns playing cards to beat the previous play, trying to get rid of the cards in their hand. But that's not all! Plata also challenges you with a good dose of 'push your luck,' as you need to decide the best time to exit the round. This is because the dreaded Mine's Curse strikes the last adventurer to remain inside, preventing them from scoring anything they've earned in that round. It's a race against time and greed, where the decision to continue or stop can be the difference between glory and frustration. Who will be the most cunning miner to escape the curse and take the silver home?
