About the game

What you do in a play session

Queen’s Architect puts you at the heart of the kingdom’s building requests. Villages, monasteries and towns all need someone to design and raise important structures, as well as perform minor repairs and farm work. As the architect, you assemble a crew of craftsmen, each with specific skills, and decide where to place your workers. The board features a rondel that shows the actions available each round; moving forward on the rondel costs less than skipping, making timing essential. You also use point‑to‑point movement to shuttle your workers between construction sites, picking the most efficient routes. Completing buildings lets you collect sets of pieces that score victory points and unlock new options. The queen rewards your success with coins and eventually the honor of designing the royal palace – the ultimate win. The game blends worker placement, set collection, a strategic rondel, and map movement, all wrapped in a nicely themed medieval setting. Playtime is about an hour, for 2‑4 players, with a light complexity (weight ~2.8), perfect for those who want tactical depth without a steep learning curve. Components are simple but well‑illustrated, and the artwork evokes medieval manuscripts, enhancing immersion. If you enjoy construction, resource management and quick strategic decisions, Queen’s Architect delivers a fun, replayable experience where each game can shift the path to the royal palace.
