About the game
You know that feeling when you have a brilliant plan, but the universe decides to mess with you? That is exactly what River Dragons feels like! The goal is straightforward: move your pawn across a river by building a bridge of wooden planks. Sounds easy, right? Wrong. Your opponents aren's interested in helping you; they are busy building their own paths and, more importantly, sabotaging yours.

The gameplay revolves around a high-energy-simultaneous-action system. Instead of waiting forever for your turn, everyone selects five action cards from a pool of nine and lays them out in a specific order. This creates a programmed sequence of moves that gets resolved one by one. You can place foundations, lay planks, move your pawn, or—my personal favorite—cancel an opponent's action or even remove pieces they just placed. It's a race of wits and timing.

The game offers great replayability thanks to its double-sided board. One side features rock piles that act as fixed-ish-points for your construction, while the other side is a blank river-scape where you can place-and-play anywhere, leading to much more unpredictable-and-chaotic-matches. It is a perfect blend of abstract strategy and 'take-that'-style interaction. If you enjoy games where you have to think three steps ahead while simultaneously watching your neighbor try to dismantle your progress, River Dragons is your next obsession!
