About the game
Ron & Bones drops you and up to three mates onto a pirate ship’s deck, but forget the boring downtime between turns. The game fuses cards and miniatures into a simultaneous flow: everyone picks actions at the same time, then reveals and resolves them in rapid succession. Each player receives a pool of action points to spend on moving crew, attacking, or hiring new pirates using rum and coins you collect. Dice are rolled to see if attacks land or maneuvers succeed, adding that splash of luck every pirate loves. The goal is to loot as much treasure as possible while stopping your opponent from doing the same, either by throwing him overboard or bribing his crew. Because everything happens concurrently, you need quick thinking and a good read on your foe’s next move – if he’s about to strike, you can already be ready to dodge or counter‑attack. Components are solid: pirate and ship miniatures, action cards, rum tokens, coins, and a board representing the deck. The learning curve is gentle, yet strategic depth grows as you balance action points, dice risk, and resource management. Perfect for fans of light‑weight strategy, pirate flair, and anyone who can’t stand long waits. In about an hour you’ll feel like you’re commanding a rum‑fueled, cannon‑blasting naval showdown.
