About the game
Ever tried seasoning a dish only to realize you went overboard? That's exactly the drama in Salty! In this trick-taking game with a twist, your goal isn't necessarily to win every trick, but to acquire the exact amount of seasonings to make your recipe perfect. Too little, and the dish is bland; too much, and it becomes a salt bomb, costing you points. Balance is the key to success.

Here's how it works: each player must follow the suit (seasoning type) played by the first player of the round. But here's the catch: the winner of the trick isn't whoever plays the highest card, but whoever plays the salinity value closest to the number of salt cubes remaining on the seasoning rack. It's a game of quick calculation and constant adaptation, as the target changes every single round.

If there's a tie for the closest value, the tie-breaker favors the player who played the lower number. And if it's still a tie? That's where 'seasoning strength' comes in. There's a concentration hierarchy: Salt is the strongest, followed by Sauce, Ketchup, and finally Mayonnaise. So, if you and a friend both play 3.5 value cards, but you played Salt and they played Ketchup, you take the win!

At the end of the round, once all cards are gone, you check your cooking card to see if you hit the target number and colors of cubes. If you nailed it, you get a high score. If you over-salted, get ready for negative points. The game unfolds over several rounds, and the player with the highest total score is crowned the master chef. It's a fast-paced, strategic experience with a pinch of tension that keeps the table excited, perfect for those who enjoy card games that break the traditional mold.

Very quick! Each game lasts between 20 and 30 minutes, making it great for multiple rounds.

Is the scoring difficult?
Scoring is simple: you compare what you collected with the goal on your cooking card. The real challenge is the strategy to avoid over-seasoning.

Anyone who enjoys strategic yet light card games, and those who like games where 'winning every trick isn't always the best move'.
