About the game

What you do in a play session

Hey everyone! Check out Six Sojourns: Deluxe Edition, a souped-up version that packs everything you need to enjoy this area control game, which is all about tough choices and interaction. Imagine a game that makes you think at every turn, blending strategy and tactics in a way that time just flies by. The goal is to grow your family and show everyone who rules the area. You'll pick cards that give you a boost to build houses, send ships sailing across the seas (yes, now there are seas and ships!), recruit more family members, and, of course, gain influence.

The cool part is that each card has a special ability and a bunch of icons representing your family's talents in things like cooking, carpentry, sewing, art, and more. You choose nine cards per game, so you have to decide whether to focus on the talents, the abilities, or dominating the map. It's an evolution of Eight-Minute Empire, with a larger board, more cards, and some new features that make the game more dynamic, like moving people in groups and using ships to cross the seas, gaining resources and control. Houses are worth more control points, and each space only accepts one. Oh, and there are "journeys" that change the rules each game, allowing you to customize or play them in order. It's a quick game, but it really makes you think!

If you enjoy games with quick decisions that have strategic weight, and you like seeing your empire (or family!) grow on the map, Six Sojourns is for you. The Deluxe version ensures you have all the extras and expansions for a complete experience. It's the kind of game you pull out for a quick session, but it'll leave you wanting to play again to test a different strategy.
