About the game
What you do in a play session
In Skoventyr, you step into the role of Vogter, a badger embodying the soul of the forest, tasked with gathering allies to confront Gamle Erik, the Devil of centuries past in Danish folklore. This malevolent entity is hunting Vogter and has brought his minions to thwart the mission. The game is cooperative, and you and your partners (or just you, if you prefer!) must defeat all threats before Erik manages to capture Vogter.
Each turn presents a tense decision: play an ally to strengthen your party and face the minions, discard an ally to use its special power, or add a new ally to your hand. However, acquiring a new ally comes at a cost, weakening your position on the board and potentially leaving you more vulnerable. Managing these costs and benefits is crucial for victory. The theme is rich, drawing inspiration from Danish folktales, and the allies, while your salvation, have a dark connection to the Devil, adding an intriguing layer to the narrative and mechanics. It's a quick game, with matches lasting between 15 and 30 minutes, perfect for those who enjoy cooperative challenges with a touch of folklore and strategic decision-making.
