About the game
Picture yourself as an ambitious merchant in Ancient Egypt, aiming to strike it rich while a massive temple is being built for the god Sobek. The Nile is teeming with boats carrying goods, and the market is your battlefield! In Sobek: 2 Players, you and your opponent compete for control over these riches in a duel of pure strategy and timing. The goal is straightforward yet sophisticated: collect goods, sell sets to secure victory points, and deploy special characters to gain an edge. But don't be fooled; it's not just about hoarding items. You must manage your hand carefully and, most importantly, watch what you're leaving behind for your opponent. When you take a tile from the market, you also move the Ankh pawn, which dictates the options available to the other player on their turn. It's a constant game of 'if I do this, what can they do?'. Furthermore, selling sets of at least three identical items is how you truly stack up victory points by the end, especially if you snag tiles featuring scarabs. Just watch out for corruption, as it can take a heavy toll during the final reckoning. It's a fast-paced, tense experience, perfect for those who love a mental duel where every single move matters.
