About the game
What you do in a play session
Embark on an epic journey through the Russian Revolution with Soviet Dawn, a game that puts you in command to defend the nascent Soviet Union against enemy forces. Utilizing the acclaimed 'States of Siege' game system, famously introduced in 'Israeli Independence', this title expands the narrative to cover the Russian Civil War between 1918 and 1921. Your mission is clear: manage crises and protect Moscow from enemy 'Fronts' converging from all directions. Do you have the cunning required to secure the future of international communism? Each turn represents a few intense weeks, where you'll deal with headlines revealing new challenges. Use military and political resources to strengthen your position, reorganize the Red Army to unlock special abilities, and perhaps even capture the Imperial Gold Reserve! The decisions are yours: will you withdraw from World War I or fight on with the 'Bukharin Option'? Can you execute the Tsar in time, or will the 'Whites' rescue him? Fortify Petrograd or press your offensives? How will you deal with internal and external dissent? Soviet Dawn challenges you to rewrite history and test your strategic skills in one of history's most turbulent periods. Components include a colorful map, game pieces, a detailed rulebook, and 48 'Headline' cards that dictate the pace of your battle.
