About the game
If you're looking for something to play between bigger sessions or want a filler that won't melt your brain, Star Catcher is your new addiction. The idea is simple but requires a sharp eye: you and your friends compete to collect as many stars as possible. The gameplay is super dynamic. At the start, there are four cards face-up on the table and each player starts with four cards in hand. Your goal is to play a card from your hand that matches the value of a card on the table or equals the sum of two or more cards already there. If you nail the calculation, congrats! Those cards go straight into your scoring pile. There are even special cards, like Magnet Cards, which let you grab all Diamond Cards from the table at once, but watch out: they don't work with Circle Cards! If you manage to clear the entire table, you earn a Bonus Card worth an extra star. The game is fast-paced and straightforward: once the deck runs out and everyone has played their hand, the round ends. Anything left on the table scores nothing, so don't hold onto cards for too long! At the end, you sum your stars and there's a 3-point bonus for whoever collected the most non-star cards. Since the game is played over several rounds (one for each player), the player who stays consistent and keeps a close eye on the sums will come out on top. It's the perfect type of game to toss in your bag and challenge your friends anywhere.
