Star Wars: Imperial Assault plunges you headfirst into the Galactic Civil War, right after the destruction of the Death Star! This tactical combat and mission board game for 2 to 5 players offers two distinct experiences within the Star Wars universe. In campaign mode, one player takes on the role of the Galactic Empire, with its seemingly endless troops, while up to four other players become heroes of the Rebel Alliance, undertaking secret missions to sabotage Imperial plans. As the story unfolds, both the Imperial player and the Rebel heroes gain new skills and experience, allowing their characters to evolve and making the plot even more engaging.
But if you prefer a more direct confrontation, skirmish mode is the way to go! In this mode, you and a friend face off in intense tactical combat. Each player assembles their own strike force, choosing from Imperials, Rebels, and Mercenaries, and builds a deck of command cards to surprise their opponent in battle. Whether recovering lost holocrons or defending against a surprise attack, every skirmish is full of danger and crucial tactical decisions. What's more, the core set already includes the Luke Skywalker Ally Pack and Darth Vader Villain Pack, which feature detailed miniatures and extra campaign and skirmish missions, putting these saga icons at the center of the action. Expansions add new heroes, Imperial and mercenary groups, and brand-new campaigns. Plus, the free 'Legends of the Alliance' app provides additional content for solo or cooperative play.
