About the game
StarCraft: The Board Game brings the epic universe of StarCraft to the tabletop, featuring 180 miniatures, a modular board that changes each game, and a card‑driven combat system that lets you customize your army with cutting‑edge tech. Each player chooses one of the three races – Humans, Zerg, and Protoss – and receives a faction with unique victory conditions, though all can earn victory points by controlling special areas on the planets. The setup already gives each player two planets, connected by direct and “Z‑Axis” links that can be altered during play, forcing players to plan transport routes and invasions. A turn is split into planning, execution, and regrouping: during planning, players place order counters in stacks on the planets, blocking or combining actions. In execution, each player selects the top order from their stack to perform, which can build units, mobilize troops, or research new tech. The combat deck for each race evolves as research is completed, letting players customize their cards and boost their troops’ effectiveness. The game blends macro strategy—expansion and resource control—with micro combat tactics, demanding players adapt to board changes and opponents’ moves. With 3‑4 hour playtime and 2‑6 players, StarCraft: The Board Game delivers an immersive experience for franchise fans and those who enjoy complex, action‑packed war games. The main highlight is the integration of detailed miniatures and a real‑time evolving card system, making each session unique and strategic.
