About the game

What you do in a play session

Summoner Wars is a fast‑paced, action‑heavy card game for 2‑4 players set on the war‑torn world of Itharia. Each player takes the role of a Summoner – a mage‑general wielding mysterious Summoning Stones – and leads a faction, be it vengeful Phoenix Elves, tundra Orcs, or the Human Vanguard. The goal is to defeat the opposing Summoner by mixing powerful spells (freeze, drain, fire rain) with hordes of summoned warriors each turn.

The game blends deck‑building strategy with miniature‑style tactics: you manage your hand, spend Action Points to move units across a grid board, roll dice to resolve combat, and can play "Take That" cards to disrupt your opponent. Variable Player Powers give each faction unique abilities, ensuring every match feels fresh. The basic set includes two complete factions, a battle mat, dice, wound markers, and everything needed to jump straight into the fight. Expansions add new races – such as Undead or mercenary units – and more cards, letting you fine‑tune your deck to your preferred playstyle. Rules are easy to pick up, but tactical depth emerges from card selection, unit placement, and timing of devastating spells. Playtime runs 30‑60 minutes, perfect for quick duels or longer tournament sessions. In short, Summoner Wars offers an epic combat experience packed with magic, strategic movement, and endless replayability.
