Get ready to awaken from eternal slumber! In Sword & Sorcery: Immortal Souls, you and your friends take on the roles of legendary heroes brought back to life through powerful sorcery. Your mission? Save the kingdom from a rising darkness and break the spell binding your souls. This is a fully cooperative experience, meaning teamwork is the only way to survive.
The standout feature is the AI system. Forget the need for a Game Master to control the villains; the game itself manages the enemies via encounter cards and scrolls, creating unpredictable behaviors and battles that change every time. Each monster has its own fighting style and unique powers, making every encounter a tactical puzzle.
On the hero side, customization is deep. Each character has two different classes (representing parallel destinies), and you can evolve your skills, acquire soul weapons, and find powerful artifacts throughout the quests. The combat system utilizes custom D10 dice that combine fixed values with rolls, generating hits and parries. A clever detail is the power 'cooldown' mechanic: you decide whether to activate a skill at low intensity for a faster recovery or at full strength, which requires more time to recharge.
What happens if you die? No worries! There is no player elimination. Your hero becomes an ethereal ghost capable of using unique ghost shouts against enemies until they can resurrect at the Gods' altar by spending Soul points. With ultra-detailed 32mm miniatures and a modular board that changes with every adventure, the immersion is complete. Quests are designed to be completed in about 90 minutes, making it perfect for those who want the depth of an RPG without the commitment of 8-hour sessions.
