About the game
If you're already a fan of Targi, get ready to upgrade your tribe! This expansion arrives to provide extra breath and more strategic flexibility for those looking to dominate the desert. The biggest novelty is the introduction of water, which essentially functions as a wildcard. You know that moment when you're missing one specific resource to complete your move? Now you can exchange two water tokens for any other resource you need, making resource management much more fluid.

Additionally, the game introduces new tribe cards that replace those from the base game. These cards are more flexible, allowing you to choose between spending gold or water to build, which speeds up progression and opens up new combo possibilities. But it's not just about making things easier; the expansion also adds the Targia, a Tuareg woman who acts as a counterpoint to the Robber. While the Robber disrupts, the Targia is your best ally: she moves across the board, and if you manage to place your pawn alongside her, you receive a favor. You can either pick a resource of your choice or risk spending one to reveal and claim the top card of the deck.

To top it off, we have the shifting sand cards. These are placed around the central area and offer powerful immediate advantages. The catch is that there's a cost: by using the dunes, you give up an intersection in the central grid. It's the classic 'big gain now, loss of space later' dilemma. It's the perfect dose of extra complexity without turning the game into an endless instruction manual. If you're looking for more tactical depth and want every game of Targi to be even more dynamic, this expansion is the way to go.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the base game to play?
Yes, this is an expansion. You need the original Targi to use these new components.
Is the game still only for 2 players?
Yes, the expansion maintains the total focus on the strategic duel for two players.
Does the expansion make the game much harder?
No, in fact, water and the new tribe cards actually make some constructions easier, though they add more layers of decision.
How much extra time does the expansion add to games?
Playtime remains very similar with a minimal increase, though setup takes a bit longer to arrange the grid.
Is it worth it if I play rarely?
If you enjoy the base game, yes. It solves the 'resource lock' that occasionally happens in the original.
