About the game
What you do in a play session
The Cookie is a fast‑paced card game packed with suspense, perfect for fans of mystery and risky decisions. Each match gathers four to six players, each secretly taking on one of six quirky characters. Along with the character, every player receives two hidden goals: to attack a specific target and to protect themselves from a potential pursuer. These goals are shown on a reminder card visible to all, but nobody knows who controls which character.
During the game you play character cards from your hand, dropping subtle (or outright deceptive) hints to confuse opponents about your identity. When you feel confident, you can play a Sword card to attack your target or a Shield card to defend against who you think will strike you. Attacks and defenses are resolved using the classic rock‑paper‑scissors mechanic, so timing the right move is crucial. Each successful hit scores victory points; missing or being caught without defense can cost you points.
A round lasts 10‑20 minutes and the light weight (1.6) means even newcomers can keep up. The game blends deduction, bluffing and a dash of math as you tally points and weigh probabilities. If you love games that let you play detective while feeling the rush of calculated risk, The Cookie serves it all in a compact package that fits on any tabletop gathering.
Beyond the fun, the game encourages non‑verbal communication and reading body language, as every card played can be a signal or a disguise. It’s ideal for groups looking for something quick, interactive, and chat‑filled. Brew some coffee, pick your character, and see who can uncover the target before the next attack lands!
