Hey everyone! Ready for a dose of tension and camaraderie in the trenches? The Grizzled is a cooperative game that throws you right into World War I, where your team's survival depends on unity and a bit of luck. Here, either everyone wins, or everyone loses, so teamwork is key.
Each round starts with the current leader deciding how many cards everyone draws. Then, it's time to face the mission: you can either play a card from your hand, representing threats like mortar shells and bad weather, or even negative personality traits that affect you (like being frightened or obsessive). But be careful, because most of the information in your hand remains secret! That's right, communication is limited, so you'll have to figure out what everyone is going through without being able to speak openly. If you feel you can't help, you can back out of the mission, but that has its consequences.
The goal is to deplete the threat deck and all players' hands before time runs out. If a specific threat appears too many times, the mission fails, and the team loses. It's a true test of hand management and 'push your luck,' where every decision counts. Strategic planning, trust in your comrades, and a touch of intuition are essential to lead your soldiers to victory and ensure peace. A medium-light weight game, perfect for those looking for an immersive cooperative experience full of tough decisions.
