About the game
What you do in a play session
Get your heart racing and your courage ready, because the journey to destroy the One Ring has begun! In 'The Lord of the Rings: Adventure to Mount Doom', you and your friends step into the shoes of the Fellowship, tasked with the desperate mission of guiding Frodo to the fires of Mount Doom. But don't expect a stroll through the Shire; the dangers are very real, and the Nazgûl are always lurking, ready to turn your quest into a nightmare.
The heart of the game beats to the rhythm of the dice. Forget about purely random luck; here, the movement system is strategic and packed with tension. You'll use colored dice to decide which member of the company moves and by how many spaces. The real trick lies in management: you need to choose your dice wisely both before and after each roll. And watch out for those black dice! They are the engine of chaos, triggering unexpected encounters, growing threats, and confrontations that can shift the course of history in the blink of an eye.
Beyond managing movement, the group must also look after Frodo's mental state. If he loses confidence and succumbs to despair, the mission might end before you even reach your destination. This is a game of total coordination: if one player acts selfishly, the entire Fellowship might fall. It's a cooperative challenge where there is only one goal: reach Mount Doom with the Ring in hand and the group still intact. If you succeed, the victory belongs to everyone! It's a fast-paced, intense experience that perfectly captures that 'us against the world' feeling we love so much in fantasy classics.
