About the game
What you do in a play session
The Queen's Dilemma picks up the story a century after The King's Dilemma, plunging players into the kingdom of Ankist where political intrigue reigns supreme. Each participant selects one of six distinct characters – from a cunning subterfuge master to a greedy merchant – and receives a personal deck of secret objectives, unique abilities, and territories under their control. The core of the game is the Dilemma Card system, which sparks heated voting rounds where alliances shift like sand. Choices impact not only resources such as gold, wood, and influence, but also reshape the map, unlock new rules, and tilt the balance among six opposing political ideologies (Tradition vs Progress, Force vs Diplomacy, Order vs Liberty). A new keyword system records landmark actions – a surprising act of forgiveness may earn everlasting gratitude, while a radical decree can tarnish reputation forever. Throughout the campaign you build structures, trade resources, support the Queen’s army, and strive to keep revolts at bay in your lands. The legacy evolves: cards are permanently marked, components are revealed, and the board itself transforms as the realm reacts to your decisions. If you love branching narratives, politically charged twists, and a dash of betrayal, this 60‑90 minute, moderately weighted (3/5) game for 3‑6 players delivers exactly that.
