In 1871, Canada was just four years old when the Prime Minister proposed an ambitious project: building a transcontinental railway to unite the east and west of the country. In The Transcontinental, you are a contractor tasked with helping to complete this monumental work. The game combines worker placement and pick-up and deliver mechanics, where you send telegrams to reserve actions, load and unload resources on a shared train, and use these resources to build lumber mills, farms, cities, and even national parks. Additionally, you can participate in auctions to extend the railway and use powerful ally cards, inspired by Canadian historical figures, to perform strategic actions.
