About the game

What you do in a play session

In Urbis, you step into the shoes of an ambitious City Council member, tasked with transforming your city block into a beacon of prosperity. The city is governed by an elected council, and the ultimate goal is to become the Head of the Council. Each player manages their own section of the city, utilizing treasury resources and guard influence to construct strategic buildings. The core question is: how do you please the residents or adhere to the council's decrees? Building hospitals requires a significant investment but offers benefits. Conversely, structures like cemeteries and prisons can be used to hinder opponents, redirecting them to their blocks instead of yours. But beware, nobody wants to live near grim places! Some might opt for a more dictatorial approach, filling their block with slums and honky-tonks, disregarding the populace's needs, as the first to fill all building slots wins. The choice is yours: a blooming garden or a dark corner? A prosperous city or controlled chaos? Urbis compels you to make swift decisions and manage your hand of cards wisely, balancing the risk of bad luck with the reward of successful construction. Prepare for a fierce competition where strategy and a bit of luck determine who will lead Urbis!
