In Weather Machine you join the scientific team of Lightning Technologies, headed by the eccentric Professor Sêni Lativ. Your goal is to wield the newly built Weather Machine to fulfill contracts ranging from irrigating farms to guaranteeing clear skies for energy plants and winter resorts. Each round offers eight possible actions – gather resources, operate the machine, retarget it, strike deals, fulfill contracts, aid the professor, infiltrate rival firms, or chase a promotion – which can be taken in any order, but all must be selected before the turn proceeds. Action points limit how many of these activities you can perform, forcing tough strategic choices. Tile placement models the climate map: placing rain, wind or sun tiles changes conditions in specific regions, while the inevitable "butterfly effect" ripples weather changes elsewhere on the globe. To keep the machine humming you must allocate workers to energy collectors, chemicals and bots, carefully managing those supplies. Simultaneously, collecting sets of contract cards scores points and pushes you up the corporate ladder, all while trying to stop opponents from monopolizing the market. The game blends tile placement, worker placement, action‑point management and set collection, resulting in sessions that run 60‑150 minutes depending on player count (2‑4) and strategic depth. Although a solo mode exists, it is sold as an upgrade, keeping the base game focused on multiplayer rivalry. The artwork mixes steampunk and Art Nouveau, giving a high‑tech vibe with a vintage twist, while the theme tackles climate and environmental issues without sacrificing the fun of a corporate thriller.
