About the game

What you do in a play session

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King transports players to the icy continent of Northrend, where they must face the Lich King's legions. The game employs the well‑known "Pandemic System" with tweaks that fit the dark expansion perfectly. The board is dotted with forts, temples, battlefields and other iconic locations, and heroes – such as Thrall, Varian, Sylvanas and many more – advance using action points, point‑to‑point movement and their unique powers. Each turn blends dice rolls, hero cards and hand management to attack, block, heal or mount distant spaces. As the Scourge spreads, more undead appear, keeping pressure high. The standout feature is the quests: cooperative challenges that require a mix of dice and cards to complete, each bringing its own hazards and obstacles. Completing quests opens the path to Icecrown Citadel for the final showdown with the Lich King himself. The game supports 1‑5 players, lasts about 45‑60 minutes, and has a light weight (2.3/5), making it ideal for fans of thematic co‑op without heavy complexity. Detailed miniatures bring the setting to life, and a trading component lets adventurers swap resources. In short, it’s a cooperative experience that captures the World of Warcraft vibe, offering simple strategy, plenty of action, and an epic climax.
