In Yashima: Legend of the Kami Masters, you step into a world where ancestral spirits, the Kami, and humans with the ability to connect with them, battle for honor and dominance. Following a cataclysmic event that nearly destroyed everything, those who survived and could see the Kami became powerful warriors, forming clans to fight against chaos. Now, with the darkness defeated, these same warriors, bonded with their Kami, are destined to repeat a cycle of epic battles.
This is a card-driven miniatures combat game where each player chooses and customizes a Kami master. You'll have four iconic characters to choose from – Rosamu, the monk; Hikaru, the priestess; Akikio, the fire sorceress; and Kenta, the Ronin warrior – each accompanied by a detailed miniature. To complete the duo, you also choose a Kami: the Dragon, the Tiger, the Tortoise, or the Phoenix. The character and Kami combination yields 16 unique gameplay possibilities, each with its own deck of cards.
The goal is to use your battle deck to gain Karma, which fuels your attacks against opponents, and manage your hand of cards to execute the best moves. While the fighting is intense and the objective is to be the last one standing, in games with more than two players, total elimination doesn't happen; instead, players hit a 'restoration' state and continue fighting. The last player to hit restoration wins. Prepare for strategic battles where hand management and the right simultaneous action selection are crucial for victory!
