About the game
What you do in a play session
YoYo is a fast, light card game that feels like a strategic twist on Uno. Each player starts with seven cards drawn from a deck split into blue, red, and yellow cards. Blue and red cards are numbered 1 to 20 and feature arrows: blues point up, reds point down. Yellow cards also have numbers but carry actions such as skip a turn, pass a card to the left, steal from two opponents, or reshuffle hands. The goal is to be the first to empty your hand.
Play begins with a discard pile. If the top card is blue, you may lay down an upward‑going sequence of blue cards (e.g., 5, 6, 7). If it’s red, you must play a downward sequence (e.g., 12, 11, 10). Yellow cards can be played at any time, triggering their effect without changing the sequence direction. To flip direction you must play the same number in the opposite color – for instance, a red 10 will reverse a blue 10 on the pile.
When a player discards their last card they score +5 points; everyone else loses one point for each card left in hand. A typical game lasts about 15 minutes, supports 2‑6 players, and carries a weight of 1/5, making it very beginner‑friendly. YoYo blends the familiar chaos of Uno with tactical hand‑management decisions, delivering quick, laugh‑filled rounds.
