About the game
What you do in a play session
In Archeos Society, you take on the role of a team leader tasked with exploring legendary sites and making incredible discoveries. The core of the game lies in the constant decision between assembling smaller expeditions for quick progress or investing in larger expeditions, which are more efficient but take longer to organize. Each turn, you have two main options: recruit a new explorer to your hand or launch an expedition. To launch an expedition, you need to play a group of cards that match either by color or explorer type. But the choice of expedition leader is crucial, as they not only define which region will be explored but also offer a unique special ability for that journey. And here's the twist: when you launch an expedition, any cards left in your hand become available for your opponents to recruit! That's right, what you don't use can become gold for your adversary. To emerge victorious, a delicate balance is required between managing your hand of cards, strategically recruiting new members for your team, and accumulating valuable discoveries, all while keeping a close eye on your rivals' progress. It's a game that challenges you to think ahead and adapt to others' choices, with a touch of 'push your luck' that makes everything more exciting.
