Ever played a game you can explain in two minutes, but that leaves your brain sizzling from the decisions? That's Big Points for you. It's one of those abstract strategy gems that proves you don't need a hundred-page manual to have real depth. The goal is a frantic race along a path of colored wooden disks, where reaching the finish line isn't enough—you need the right strategy to score big on the podium.
The setup is highly dynamic: there are five differently colored pieces that any player can use, adding a layer of controlled chaos. As you race along the track, the real challenge lies in deciding which disks to pick up. It's not just about grabbing what's right in front of you! You can move your piece to a disk of the same color located either before or after your current position, trying to optimize your collection.
The moment of truth arrives when the pieces reach the scoring podium. Your final position on the podium (ranging from 0 to 4) acts as your multiplier. Collecting a mountain of disks won't help if your piece ends up in the wrong spot. Your score is calculated by multiplying the number of disks of each color you've collected by the value of the position your piece occupies on the podium. It's a game of mathematical precision and board reading: you want to collect as much as possible while ensuring your piece lands on a high-scoring spot. It's fast, it's light, but if you underestimate its depth, you'll find yourself losing to a friend in a 20-minute match. Perfect as a high-quality filler or a quick logic challenge to kick off your game night.
