Blacksmith Brothers puts you and up to three friends in the shoes of two brother blacksmiths vying to become the official artisans of the Kingdom of Hammer Stones. The game kicks off with the king announcing a search for the realm's finest smiths, and the forge race begins at once. You control two workers (meeples) and, each round, decide where to place them among the board's buildings: some generate raw materials like iron or coal, others let you transport those resources to your warehouse, and there are spots where you can melt the material into weapons or tools. Once your items are ready, you sell them to nobles who grant special abilities—extra actions, discounts, or victory points. The game blends two core mechanics: worker placement, which creates tension as players compete for limited spots, and set collection, since you must gather specific resource combinations to forge valuable goods. The medieval theme shines through with artwork of forges, castles, and period characters, yet the complexity stays modest at about 2.3/5, making it friendly for newcomers to resource‑management games. A typical playthrough lasts 50‑90 minutes, perfect for a relaxed evening. At the end, when the king returns to his castle, the brother with the most points becomes the kingdom’s official blacksmith, earning title and glory. Light, thematic, and replayable thanks to the varying noble abilities each game offers.
