About the game
Blue Moon is a two‑player card game designed by Reiner Knizia that blends strategy, bidding, and deck building in a chaotic fantasy setting. The world is abandoned by a deity, and four peoples—Vulca, Hoax, Mimix, and Flit—compete for dominance, each with a unique 30‑card deck that reflects their distinct abilities. Unlike a CCG, the game contains no random cards; expansions simply add new peoples, keeping the LCG feel intact.

Play proceeds in independent combats, each starting with a chosen element (fire or earth). Players take turns playing character and support cards to match or exceed their opponent’s power. If a player can’t match, they retreat, and the other wins the round, earning dragon tokens as victory markers. When a player runs out of cards or captures all three dragons, the game ends and the dragons are converted into victory points.

The components are solid: three dragon miniatures, a small board, and colorful decks. Expansions add new peoples and cards while preserving the core mechanics. The game is quick (30–35 min), of medium complexity, and ideal for those who enjoy tactical card duels. If you like card games that demand strategic thinking and have a taste for fantasy, Blue Moon will surprise you.

Blue Moon is part of Kosmos’s two‑player series, known for balanced, high‑quality titles.
