Get ready for a different kind of harvest in Bohnanza: 25th Anniversary Edition! In this classic card game, your goal is to plant and harvest bean cards to earn coins. The big twist is that you cannot rearrange the cards in your hand – they must be played in the order you drew them. That's right, order matters (a lot!), and that's where negotiation comes in to save the day!

On your turn, you must plant one or two cards from your hand into your 'fields.' Each field can only hold one type of bean, so if you're forced to plant a bean for which you have no space, you'll have to harvest an existing field to make room for the new arrival. And usually, harvesting prematurely isn't a good deal! After planting, you reveal two more cards from the deck, and this is where the magic happens: you can trade these cards, or any others from your hand, with other players. Anything goes, even future promises for beans you need right now!

After all trading is complete (and all trades on a turn must involve the active player), you end your turn by drawing cards and adding them to the back of your hand. When you harvest, you receive coins based on the number of bean cards in that field and the 'beanometer' for that particular bean type. Flip over some cards from that field to transform them into coins, then discard the rest. The game continues with the deck being shuffled and played through two more times after the first run-through. At the end, everyone can harvest their remaining fields, and whoever has earned the most coins wins! This 25th Anniversary Edition includes a new bean type (Magpie Bean) and three variant games, one of which uses a collectible coin packaged in the box. A worthy celebration of a classic!
