Bubble Gum is a gum‑blowing duel that blends counting, tempo control, and card play with trick‑taking trump mechanics. Each game starts with players dealt 10 cards from a 24‑card deck, while one of the four remaining cards is exposed to set the trump suit. The goal is to win tricks, but beware: every time you win a trick you add your opponent’s card to your “mouth” (score pile). If the sum of values exceeds 14, the gum bursts and the pile resets to zero. The player who loses the trick must take the opponent’s card, add it to their hand, and discard a card face down. After ten tricks, the player whose score is closest to 14 without going over wins the round. The game ends when a player wins two rounds. What makes Bubble Gum special is the constant tension that arises from trying to predict your opponent’s play while balancing the number of points you accumulate. The Hand Management mechanic forces you to decide when to play high‑value cards to win tricks and when to discard cards that could cause a burst. The Trick‑Taking Trump adds an extra layer of strategy, as the choice of trump suit changes the dynamics of each round. The game has a quick playtime of 15‑15 minutes and a low BGG weight, indicating it’s easy to learn and ideal for those looking for something light yet challenging. If you enjoy card games that require numeric reasoning and a dash of luck, Bubble Gum is a great pick for a fun and tense duel with a friend.
