Imagine commanding a squad of robots in a distant future where humanity has enslaved AI. Not exactly a fair deal, right? In Burncycle, your mission is to fight back: you must infiltrate the headquarters of evil corporations to shut down both their physical operations and their complex digital networks. It's a pure infiltration game where you need to be stealthy, search rooms, and ascend floors while unlocking new items and abilities to survive.
But don't think it's just walking and clicking. The heart of the game is 'creative action sequencing.' Each round, players receive randomly drawn programming directives that dictate the order of physical, digital, and command actions. The challenge is: do you follow the order (the 'burncycle') to optimize the team's efficiency, or do you spend precious action dice to disobey the programming and do things your way? Skipping directives is an option, but it leaves you with an incomplete turn.
The experience is cooperative (or solo) and utilizes unique neoprene layouts that change the geography of each mission, making every building a fresh puzzle. To make things harder, the corporate CEO isn't just watching; they have a threat meter that triggers new obstacles as time runs out. If you linger too long, your bots might be fried by counter-hacking or suffer immobilizing power drains. To win, you must complete the objectives on every floor without losing your command module or maxing out the threat level. It's tense, strategic, and requires the team to be in total sync!
