The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era brings the famed era of the franchise to the tabletop, seating up to four adventurers in a cooperative quest during the Planemeld. While the Order of the Black Worm seeks to secure the Amulet of Kings, an internal betrayer plots something even darker that could bind Tamriel to Oblivion forever. Each campaign unfolds over three sessions of roughly two hours (plus half an hour per player), allowing the group to develop a single hero throughout the story. Players pick from multiple skill lines and classes, earning generous experience that lets them craft unique characters in a short span. The modular hex board creates a new map each game, and scenarios range from ruin exploration to intense dungeon combat. Dice rolling with icons adds variety to resolutions, while tech trees provide strategic progression choices. Even in solo mode the rules stay fluid, and session‑to‑session progression feels meaningful without demanding players remember intricate narrative threads. In short, the game blends the epic feel of The Elder Scrolls video games with the depth of a tabletop RPG, emphasizing cooperation, character customization, and replayability.
