About the game
Call of Yeti is a card game where players take on the role of investigators of mythical creatures, trying to prove the existence of UMAs (Unidentified Mysterious Animals). Each game starts with a deal of cards representing different creatures; the main goal is to predict which creature is present, placing cards face‑down as bets. The player who starts the round (the leader) declares whether the Yeti is real, and other players must respond with the declared card or, if they don’t have it, play freely. When all play a card, the trick is resolved: if the Yeti is present, it dominates the trick and eliminates all other UMAs; otherwise only the declared creature remains in play, and the winner is the player with the highest card, except when an Ace and a 12 of the same creature are played simultaneously, where the Ace wins. The winner then lists only the cards played in the victory‑prediction column, and the game continues until only one player remains with cards. Scoring involves forming pairs between the creature of the winning card and the creature that actually won, awarding one point per pair, plus a bonus of three points if the number of winning cards matches the number of real victories. The player with the most points at the end is crowned the “Best UMA Investigator.” The game also features a special card, “I spilled my coffee!”, which, when won, increases the number of winning predictions by one, adding an element of surprise.

Typical components include a custom deck of Yeti and other creature cards, point markers, and bet tokens. Playtime ranges from 20 to 30 minutes, making it ideal for quick sessions with 3 to 5 players. The trick‑taking mechanic is simple, but the need to predict creatures accurately and manage hand cards requires focus and strategy, making the game accessible to beginners and fun for more experienced players. If you enjoy mythical creature themes and games that blend card strategy with a touch of humor, Call of Yeti could be a fun addition to your collection.
