TRICQ SHOT is a billiards-themed card game that blends strategy, memory, and a dash of luck. Each game starts with players receiving a deck of numbered and lettered cards, where A's run from 1 to 5, B's from 2 to 6, and so on. What sets this game apart is the "pocketing" mechanic – each player secretly selects a card from their hand to indicate whether they’ll play as striped or solid. That chosen card determines your identity for the round. Next, the leading player announces whether the cards will win in ascending or descending order, adding an extra layer of tension and strategy. During the trick, the leader plays a card and the others must follow with the same letter or rank, if possible. As more cards are played, the options expand, reminiscent of the unpredictable movement of billiard balls on the table. The round ends when the 8-ball (or the 8 card) is played, at which point points are tallied: you earn a point for each card that matches your "pocketed" card and lose a point for cards that don’t. The ultimate goal is to reach 8 points before the others, ending the game. The trick-taking mechanic demands attention and memory, while the billiards theme gives it a visual and thematic flair that appeals to sports and card game fans alike. Ideal for 3 to 5 players, the game lasts 20 to 60 minutes, offering a quick yet engaging experience that mixes fun and challenge in a compact, accessible package.
