The game features a neat rondel system for action selection: you swap one of your workers for one already present in your desired action space. The twist is that having specific workers (farmers, builders, soldiers, nobles) supercharges your actions. Need more cards? Use the farming action with farmers. Building citadels? Call on the builders! Want to defend or attack? Soldiers are key! And to boost your workforce, nobles recruit more tribespeople. But beware: sending certain workers to the druid order grants you a "wildcard" that aids almost any action, plus there's the leader card gamble, which can be flipped for a riskier but more rewarding endgame. Cards are your trump cards for building, fighting, or appeasing the druids. The game also has a subtle cooperative element: citadels need to be completed, and everyone gains bonuses when building within them.
