At the center of the table, a vibrant market is set up with nine cards numbered 1 to 9, arranged in a circle. These cards represent the current prices of five distinct commodities, and a marker for each is initially placed at value 5. Jakob Fugger's card is kept in sight, reminding everyone of the grand prize. Players start with a hand of cards and take turns, seeking the best strategy to manipulate the market.

During your turn, you can draw a card if your hand is empty, or play cards to influence prices and acquire goods. The dynamic is all about timing and foresight: when to buy, when to sell, and how your actions affect the value of products for other players.
